Enhancing Student Nutrition and Physical Movement in America’s Schools Wednesday, April 12, 2023 3:00 – 4:30 pm ET Childhood obesity is a serious health problem in the United States. While there are many factors driving childhood obesity, there are also many actions we can take to help address it. Schools may provide opportunities for young people to learn about nutrition, experience different foods, and understand food choices. Physical movement can support students in engaging in classroom content and peer activities in a dynamic way to enhance both their academic learning and overall well-being. This webinar will look at nutrition and physical activity and discuss how schools are supporting both. Panelists will highlight innovative practices to change the types of foods available at schools, helping students build skills to make healthier food choices, and how physical movement can be encouraged throughout the school day in physical education classes, recess, and in academic classes through myriad modalities.
