One in five college students have kids. How are states supporting them?

One out of every five college students are parents, and states are starting to recognize that helping this group of students complete their degrees is a vital part of college success strategies. Ensuring success for student parents has multiple benefits—helping parenting students succeed means success and economic security for the whole family, not only the student. Support for parenting students varies around the country, from scholarship programs to early registration for classes and childcare on campus.
