The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Public Law 115-31) became law on May 5, 2017. Provisions in the law made important changes in FY 2017 to the Title IV, Part A Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) Grant program, including, but not limited to, providing State educational agencies with the option of making competitive subgrants to eligible local educational agencies (rather than by formula).
The U.S. Department of Education, Office of Safe and Healthy Students (OSHS), in collaboration with the National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments, hosted a webinar about these changes. At the conclusion of the webinar, the speakers responded to participant questions.
