During this Online Learning Event, Project Prevent and Elementary and Secondary School Counseling grantees strengthened their understanding of:
- The fundamental principles, visions, and processes for planning sustainability efforts;
- Strategies for gathering and utilizing data to “build the case” for sustaining program achievements;
- Methods and practices on communicating with organizational leaders and other stakeholders through a sustainability action plan.
The speakers provided practical guidance, examples, and resources that can be applied regardless of your current stage in planning a sustainability strategy. The event included a mix of presenters including a technical assistance specialist and former practitioner and current practitioners; opportunities for discussion with presenters and peers; and activities to explore practical application of what is presented and discussed.
About the Speakers
Sandy Williamson: Ms. Williamson leads several TA projects for improving school-based services for children and youth with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. She is director for the National Center on Safe Supportive Learning Environments, funded by the U. S. Department of Education which provides support for grantees in measuring and implementing programs that address school safety, school climate, violence prevention and trauma informed practices.
Scott Lindstrom: Mr. Lindstrom is the Student Support Coordinator for Chico Unified School District in Chico, CA.
Shelley Duke: Ms. Duke is the Director of Coordinated School Health Services for the Cheatham County Schools in Ashland City, TN.
