The Future of Anti-Racist Community Engagement

This three-hour symposium will feature thought-provoking discussions and insights from leaders in the field, including Timothy Eatman, dean of the Honors Living-Learning Community at Rutgers University-Newark, who will deliver a keynote address that promises to inspire and challenge our perspectives. We’ll be joined by scholars and practitioners in the field who will share ideas and strategies they are using to promote anti-racist community engagement. Drawing from Anti-Racist Community Engagement: Principles and Practices, this event will facilitate dialogues aimed at shaping the future of community engagement through an anti-racist lens. Leveraging Environmental Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship Pathways (Green Jobs) for Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Individuals. This webinar session will feature the Roots of Success Program and staff working in East Oregon Correctional Institution and Peralta Services Corporation. The Pipeline to Pell webinar series focuses on advancing state and local implementation of inclusive, supportive, comprehensive, and high-quality correctional education programs that meet the diverse needs of students. The webinar sessions will provide participants with information, resources, and noteworthy practices in providing confined or incarcerated students with career-connected prison education programs. This session will highlight the Roots of Success Environmental and Literacy and Job Training Program which is the first federally recognized Department of Labor CTE Environmental Literacy Instructor Apprenticeship Program in the nation. This empowering Environmental Literacy and Job Training Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship Program prepares youth and adults with barriers to employment to access jobs and career pathways in environmental fields and to improve environmental and social conditions in their communities. Action Collaborative on Preventing Sexual Harassment 2024 Public Summit

This Public Summit of the National Academies is an open forum for those in the higher education ecosystem collaboratively to identify, discuss, and elevate innovative and promising approaches and new research on addressing and preventing sexual harassment. This annual event brings together a diverse group, including members and partner network organizations of the Action Collaborative, the broader higher education community, sexual harassment researchers and response practitioners, grassroots and nonprofit organizations, public and private foundations, and federal and state policymakers.
