The White House Initiative on Advancing Education Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Black Americans invite you to attend Power UP Philadelphia!Power Up is a series of in-person and virtual engagements organized by the White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Black Americans and Discovery Education. The series serves as critical touchpoints to directly engage the Black community, discuss best and promising practices, and share information about local and federal resources that advance educational and economic opportunities.Power Up - Philadelphia is the fifth installment of the series and will feature the whole-of-government approach to supporting Black students, families, and communities. The first day (October 22) includes youth, family, and community engagements. On October 23, attendees will hear directly from local and federal agencies about the initiatives, policies, and strategies to enhance racial and social justice, economic opportunity, and access to essential services for Black Americans.Power Up is a White House Black Initiative effort to promote equitable access to resources that serve the needs of Black students, families, and communities.
