$18.75 million in safety grants to institutions of higher education to help make Maryland safer

Governor Wes Moore today announced that the Maryland Higher Education Commission has awarded $18.75 million in campus safety grants to Maryland’s colleges and universities. The grants will help facilitate on-campus public safety infrastructure improvements. Administered through the Maryland Higher Education Commission’s Campus Safety Grant program, projects or initiatives eligible for the funds include campus security assessments and recommendations; implementation of enhanced security operations and mechanisms; and emergency management planning. Awardees are required to track and measure program outputs and outcomes via quarterly performance measure and financial reports, submitted to the Maryland Higher Education Commission.
