Hazing is illegal and prohibited by University Policy AD98. Penn State defines hazing as “any action or situation that recklessly or intentionally endangers the mental or physical health or safety of a student or that willfully destroys or removes public or private property for the purpose of initiation or admission into or affiliation with, or as a condition for continued membership in, any registered student organization.” Student safety is a top priority at Penn State, and the University will fully investigate every allegation of hazing possible. Any individual or organization found responsible for hazing is subject to University discipline under the Student Code of Conduct, up to and including expulsion from Penn State, termination of University employment, or loss of University recognition.
