University Communications announced changes to the Alert Carolina emergency messaging system. The University is simultaneously reinforcing their collaboration with local emergency-preparedness organizations, faculty training and surveillance on campus. These changes come with a series of other efforts by the University to adapt Campus Safety efforts in the wake of the events of Aug. 28, 2023. The University consulted community members, third-party safety experts and made changes to Alert Carolina, preparedness modules and security cameras on campus.
