Tobacco Product Use Among Adults - United States, 2012-2013

Summarizes national estimates of tobacco use among adults aged 18 years and older using data from the 2012-2013 National Adult Tobacco Survey. Findings indicate that an estimated one in five U.S. adults (50 million persons) currently use tobacco products, with greater use among men, younger adults, non-Hispanic adults, those living in the Midwest and South, those with less education, and LGBT adults. Implications for increased implementation of comprehensive tobacco control programs are discussed.
