Update: Drug-Related Emergency Department Visits Involving Synthetic Cannabinoids

Highlights the increasing public health concern that remains over the use of synthetic cannabinoids as the availability of the substance has surged since 2010. The report calls community leaders to consider new approaches to reducing rates of synthetic cannabinoids use by discussing how even with ongoing regulatory action and enforcement, these products continue to be marketed widely, especially to adolescents and those seeking a legal high with a desire to evade detection by current drug testing technologies.
